Future thinkers wanted for Brainport Smart District User Council!

Future thinkers wanted for Brainport Smart District User Council!

How will our life look like in 20 years? And in 50 years? How is our living and working environment changing? Do we grow our own vegetables? Do we still drive to work by car? For the BSD User Council (title in development) we are looking for future thinkers who want to think about this.

Brainport Smart District wants to become the smartest city in the world. Living in the future, but already now. We want to make BSD an attractive neighborhood to live, work and stay. The BSD User Council will deal with this bridge between innovation and reality.

The user council can be asked by a company or institution to respond to an innovation project for BSD: if this idea will soon be part of the neighborhood, how would residents and visitors experience it? What should we take into account? What opportunities and obstacles do you see? In addition, the user council can also provide advice on its own initiative.

What does an innovative water-saving system actually mean for your daily shower? If the neighborhood becomes car-free, children can safely play outside, but will the neighborhood still be attractive to people with walking difficulties? Suppose we organize care locally and among ourselves, how does that change the bond between neighbors? How does a shared guest bedroom in the ward affect visiting family members?

How does it work?
We are looking for people who, with their own interest, want to think along about all questions related to BSD developments. In what form interested parties (you?) Can think along and how we will organize this? We would also be happy to discuss that with you. For example, we want to think together about the manner of consultation, cooperation, frequency, output and composition of the board. Once we have that clear, we will start substantively.

Are you joining us?
Are you interested in the latest innovations and would you like to talk about them? Or are you always sharp in your own environment on what could be done better or differently? Are you a critical thinker or can you speak from the experience of a specific target group? Then we are looking for you!

Send an email to Tove Elfferich, project leader User Council.

Q-Book 2020 available!

The ambitions in BSD are high. BSD must become the smartest city in the world. There is a lot of enthusiasm among developers, and others, to contribute to this. However, there is a need for frameworks and guidelines. That is why the BSD foundation has developed a quality manual (Q-Book).

This Quality Book (Q-Book) describes the expected level of innovation of all proposals and projects submitted. In concrete terms, this means that for all eight BSD program lines, the ambitions, indicators and specific goals are listed in this book.

With the Q-Book, we ensure that all parties involved know what to expect in BSD. The manual is an important document for the further development of BSD and is reviewed every year and amended where necessary.

We are looking for candidates for the Data Governance Board!

Are you in for a challenge to shape the digital design of the neighborhood of the future in close collaboration with the Brainport Smart District program organization?

The objective of the Data Governance Board is to advise on the implementation of digital innovations, the design of digital infrastructures and the use of data in BSD. The Data Manifest BSD forms the assessment framework for this and, if necessary, the Board proposes amendments to the Data Manifesto. Experts sit on the Board in areas including:

  • Digitization of built-up urban environments, IoT sensoring and Smart Cities
  • Data management and management (collection, processing and storage)
  • IT architectures and design & management of data platforms
  • Business analytics, data science and artificial intelligence
  • Administrative law, privacy and data law

In the appendices below you will find an extensive profile for members of the Data Governance Board. You will also find rules of procedure, which describe the working method of the Board (both are only available in dutch). This is an unpaid position, the Board is expected to meet approximately six times a year. “

If you recognize yourself in the profile and believe that you can make a good contribution to the digital design of the Brainport Smart District with your knowledge and experience, we invite you to express your interest at c.roodink@brainportsmartdistrict.nl. to make.

Within a few weeks, we will appoint a chairman of the Data Governance Board. After that, the chairman, supported by a secretary, will take on the selection of the other members. We will then further inform you about further progress before 1 September.

For questions, please contact Carlien Roodink (06 14716657) project leader Data Governance Brainport Smart District.

A successful 6th edition of the Brainport Smart District Network Event took place on June 25, 2020. This time not a physical meeting, but a live broadcast that could be followed online. We develop BSD together and that is why during the entire broadcast there was the opportunity to ask questions or provide input via a temporary WhatsApp number.

During this live broadcast, which was presented by Leon van der Zanden, Cathalijne Dortmans (Alderman of the Municipality of Helmond), Peter Portheine, Edwin Schellekens (Board of BSD) updated the general state of affairs in the new normal, the implementation program, the temporary housing and the results of the Business Challenge wave 4!

Digital signature
Special attention was given to all selected parties from this wave by means of a digital signature. In addition to this signing, three parties (Selfstorage Helmond, Antea Group and Stichting Stadslandbouw Brandevoort) also came to the studio to pitch their idea in the studio.

Curious about the innovative ideas of these parties? Or curious about what else has been discussed? View the broadcast here!
